The other night while traveling to Naks, I used the western bypass and past Ruaka, there was a body, no doubt a victim of hit and run accident, some data that I came across relating to accidents in the recent past, shows a spike in traffic accidents of hit and run nature, all happening in the newly constructed highways and bypasses. Seems that the contractors are yet to construct pedestrian bridge and crossings, leaving the public to cross haphazardly.
Although the accident in most cases are affecting adult males, most of whom have impaired judgement due to imbibing the second generation brews, found in centers most of whom are yet to master crossing the now expanded highways while under the influence.
For public safety and knowing the kind of public that we have, the road crossings should be put in place and the other areas along the highway, fenced off with a barbed wire topping Ala Thika road to prevent Kamikaze dash by the sheeple.
