Politics is about creating a narrative. Tanyatanga brigade walked into the corruption narrative trap with their eyes wide open. Ruto is on record downplaying corruption. His surrogate Dr David Ndīi excused the vice tacitly approved of it in his twitter posts.

What they forget is that Dr Ruto is copying Mr Moi kleptocracy. He has brought back Mr Moi tribal appointments. He has brought back political handouts to harambees that had been abolished by Kibakis government. He has brought back political intolerance na makasiriko.

Those are unforced blunders. All the opponents need to do is go sing it from the mountain.
