Tanzania claims COVID-19 tests on 19 drivers at Namanga were false

The Tanzanian Government has rubbished claims that 19 truck drivers from the country tested positive at the Namanga border earlier in the week.

In a press statement, Arusha Regional Commissioner Mrisho Gambo said the country’s labs in Dar Es Salaam tested 44 drivers between May 14-18.

Out of the tested samples, 14 drivers turned positive among them (11) Kenyans, (1) Ugandan and 2 from unnamed nationality.

30 drivers from the tested samples were confirmed as negative according to the press statement.

At the same time, the statement claims that all the 19 Tanzanian drivers who tested positive at the Namanga border later tested negative when their samples were tested in Tanzania.

The statement alleges that there is a ploy by Kenya to kill tourism and business in Arusha and Tanzania by declaring falsified coronavirus results.

Do we have a common test that's being used across the borders? Do Tanzanians trust their own tests? They told everybody that the test turned positive for goats, oil and fruits. How can we trust their results when they themselves do not trust the results or the procedure used?

Coincidentally, when is the last time you had the Tanzanian government publish any data regarding covid-19. It is probably the only government in the world that has consistently failed to publish that data. Even the US and Brazil with equally moronic ideas publish this data. We know that this disease spreads very rapidly if left unchecked. I believe they are hiding their true numbers and are attacking Kenya for exposing the high rate of infection among its citizens.

Why is Tanzania afraid for its tourism industry? There are no international passenger flights anywhere. Where are the tourists that Kenya is allegedly dissuading from traveling to Tanzania. Megafool has claimed in the past that passenger flights and charters are overbooked until August. All while US government has issued a pandemic advisory to its citizens while the UK government has chattered flights to evacuate its citizens.

Who is fooling who here? Megafool has been quoted saying that their economy matters more than their health. The beet thing he can do is live with that. The Kenyan people have chosen health over the economy. He should not expect us bend over after paying a heavy economic penalty for the relatively low numbers of covid-19 infections.

No one knows how many people have died from the virus in tz also considering how many prominent people including mps have died the past 3weeks
