Seems like the heavy rains are gone and things might normalize momentarily. The government must be relieved as the criticism was mounting fast. The truth is, they were totally unprepared. On the positive, we are once more reminded of the millions of city residents who reside in inhumane conditions and on whose backs the economy rides. I would not blame any government for this scourge seeing that it was borne out of the urbanization that came with colonialism. I still wonder what form a solution would take to a problem that has plagued authorities for the last 100 years.
On a different note, if the rains continued, I was proposing we dispatch a few youth-folk Mayan style. They must be partly responsible if you consider the things they do on TikTok.

Do a simple Gugu search of the population of ANY developed country in say 1970 and compare it to Kenya's then. Then search for the population today.

Kenyans - and Africans -ust internalize the principle of cause-and-effect.

We had slums in the 1940s and 50s when the country's population was barely 6 million. We still have slums today when the population is at 60 million. How about before the White man landed? Zero slums. This points to the possibility that slums have nothing to do with population size. It also tells us that slums and the 'perceived' overpopulation are the outcomes of the practiced economic model, which imposes idleness and under-productivity on the population. I will do a more comprehensive response sometime proving that 'overpopulation' is an imagined problem and a scapegoat for a dysfunctional economic model.

Those youth are less harmful to society than the thieving corrupt murderous political class. I'd start there.

People are starting to awake to what I have been saying all along - that the ordinary mwananchi is not the saint he has been made to be by media and NGOs.

The average Kenyan is a lazy, thieving nincompoop who'll elect Waititu, Sonko and Dimples; sire children he can't take care off; and not use a condom with a diseased hoe. Etc, etc.

THEN he'll expect everybody to stop what they are doing to help his sorry ass when shit hits the fan..
