While in Form 2 a classmate lost his mum few days before we re-opened for 2nd Term. David delayed reporting by a few days. Siku alifika deputy h/m refused to admit him, saying loudly RUDI NYUMBANI UKUJE NA MAMAKO !
What followed was a defeaning scream, several uppercuts, hooks, hot slaps and donkey kicks....a stupid deputy headteacher on the ground in a foetal position, half dead. Then Davie sank to the ground and started crying in Bukusu.

Later the deputy learnt why he had triggered Daudi, apologised and never laid a hand on him again.

In primary school by deskmate, a girl, and I were discussing how distraught we would be if one of our parents died. That weekend on Sunday after CU akakujiwa na her relatives. Ilikuwa boarding. Her dad had passed on. Lets say kuna wimbo tulipresent na yeye kwa hiyo service that I believe is cursed to this day. I never sing it.
