The man set to lead the West African country was in prison just 10 days ago and it looks like that region is doing away with French influence without a single car... from Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger but this here is unique. Huyu champe amewin election and not via a coup.

But first things first...

Senegal's fiery opposition contender, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, aged 44, is on the brink of assuming presidency following the concession of defeat by his rival from the ruling coalition, Amadou Ba, aged 62. Faye's potential direct majority might have spared the necessity for a second round, thereby perpetuating Senegal's exceptional custom of the ruling party conceding to the opposition after completing two terms. Moreover, he earns the distinction of being the youngest candidate to democratically secure election in Africa upon the first attempt at running for office in decades, in contrast to Burkina Faso's Ibrahim Traoré, aged 36, who ascended to power through a coup in 2022.

Outgoing President Macky Sall's endeavors to disrupt Senegal's delicate democratic conventions by incarcerating opposition leader Ousame Sonko, endeavoring to secure a third term, and attempting to postpone elections nearly overturned the nation's democratic traditions. However, these efforts backfired significantly, inciting weeks of nationwide turmoil and violent protests, ultimately compelling Sall to retract his maneuvers.

Ultimately, democracy has once again triumphed in Senegal. The country has successfully averted democratic regression, demonstrating a tranquil voting process free from disputes over electoral fraud, culminating in a graceful concession from the vanquished party.

Hopefully he won't be a major disappointment like the outgoing President Macky Sall. Who was youthful, educated and presented a hope that new leadership was finally being ushered in and would eventually would be the norm. He turned out to be totally useless.

Comparable only to Kenya's "digital duo, makachietha of UhuRuto". What a waste.
