Don't know why any African should obsess with how the English pronounce their words. As long as you communicate, what the hell? I mean, just tell the average English newsreader to pronounce Kipng'etich we see...................

Same with the Kenyan habit of telling TZ they are illiterate because they have poor english yet Kenyans struggle with Kiswahili. The mental colonisation software is running perfectly as intended

It is a sign of sophistication when their children do not know a single word of their native language....

One of my undying peeves with The Alliance High School, the alma mater of yours truly, was the prohibition of native languages. You got punished for speaking in Kikuyu or Dhoruo for example. But those that knew French or German could speak to their wits end, even though the majority of us didn't understand the European languages.

It is this prohibition, coming as I did from a cosmopolitan primary boarding school, that turned me into an unshamed Gikuyu chauvinist. At University we spoke Kikuyu 98.7865% of the time just to spite our former tormentors......
