Kylian Mbappe has scored eight goals in eight appearances for PSG in the Champions League this season, and could set a new record for most goals by a French player in a single Champions League campaign, overtaking David Trezeguet in 2001-02 and Wissam Ben Yedder in 2017-18 (both eight).

He could also be the first player to score in four consecutive knockout games for PSG in the competition.

Bayern Munich will be looking to progress from a Champions League knockout tie after losing the first leg for the first time since 2014-15 (v Porto in the quarter-finals).

The German side have been eliminated in each of the last four instances when losing the first leg, with all four coming in consecutive seasons between 2014-15 and 2017-18.

Sergio Oliveira has scored five Champions League goals for FC Porto this term, the joint-most in a season by a Portuguese player for a Portuguese club, along with Nuno Gomes in 1998-99 for Benfica.

The last player to score more in a European Cup campaign was Eusebio in 1967-68, also for Benfica (6 goals).

Only three of the last 50 teams to lose the first leg at home in a Champions League knockout tie have managed to progress - however one of these three did come against PSG in 2018-19, with Manchester United eliminating them in the last 16.

Bayern Munich are the third reigning Champions League winners in a row to fail to reach at least the semi-final stage in the following season in the competition, something that has not happened since four successive teams failed between 2004-05 and 2007-08 (Porto, Liverpool, Barcelona, Milan).

After Bayern Munich's exit from the competition, Real Madrid remain the only team in the Champions League era to have successfully defended the trophy - 2016, 2017, 2018.

The last three clubs to eliminate Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals all went on to win the trophy that season - AC Milan (2006/07), Barcelona (2008/09) and Real Madrid (2016/17).
