Papa Franco, finally...

Yes, but not marriages which 'the Church considers objectively sinful'
What's the difference? If you had not noticed he first said gays should be treated "as children of god". I thought god determined what is sin and/or abominable but looks like papa is revising the rule book. Who gave him authority?

Christianity is at a crossroads. Should the Church stand firm and watch as more and more people care less and less for its rigid teachings, or should they change with the times in a (futile) attempt to attract more people to the faith? It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. No surprise that Islam is growing in popularity. It has no compromises whatsoever on such matters.

God doesn't change his mind, but the christianity (or churchianity) you mention is a man-made institution

This 50/50 reasoning is what makes Muslims call "believers" Kafirs; nowadays the Christianity faith which should follow in the footsteps of Christ stands for nothing. It mutates as they in "power" choose. Gladly the protestant churches by a good margin doesn't entertaining this fag business. They got their sporadic issues too but they seem to offer better definitive direction when it comes to matters sexuality and other taboo topics.
