A middle-age man from Muthangari, Mathioya sub-county in Murang'a has been hospitalised with bullet wounds after being shot by a police officer for allegedly stabbing the officer with a spear.
The officer had gone to arrest him for beheading a goat and a hen belonging to his own mother following a domestic scuffle.

I did not know people still have these stone age weapons as their primary security plan. I have never understood the concept of a spear...the bearer just deploys it and then remain defenseless? or do they carry several spears? I would think bows and arrows or even sling-shot would be more viable weapons as you can reload and fire.

D- might have accosted the man without identifying himself, they usually think tone of voice will intimidate all and sundry.
