A few days ago, I was here asking for your advice on what career a young man should choose. Nilimuonesha mawaidha yenu and he continued doing some more research.

He came back with an idea; complete his LLB then do a post graduate dip in project management instead of going to KSL. Frankly hapa I am stumped cause I like outside the box solutions, but the thing about those solutions is they need some experimentation and may sometimes not work.

Now again I am asking you, since this is a career choice and not a problem that needs solving, is his chosen combo a workable solution?

At this point, the exact plan is not important. What is important is the ability to plan ahead. If he is resourceful enough, he can complete project management concurrently. Never worry about the workability of the combo. There will always be that one opportunity where he will strut like a cock, with no competition in sight.

How will practise with no license? He will need it in his project management jobs?

He should find a niche/course that pays well, is scalable, and that he likes. I know it is hard to find one that ticks all boxes, but he can try to balance.

I think that is a great combination, I know people who are doing well and they did law and then some finance diploma and they are quite well off....I would suggest that you do not over plan, majority of the people usually end up having careers that are out of their professional qualification.

He'll still be a lawyer, just not an advocate of the high court. He can become a corporate.
I already gave my opinion on this topic about thinking outside the box.
But in my opinion, he still needs to complete the circle by going through the LSK route.
If he decides to go the corporate or NGO route, he always has his LSK credentials to flash around even if he is not taking on court cases.
