Night Flight

Elder Lister
In the old days, we used to sleep in tranches. You'd hit pause on your sleep, whip up some porridge over a crackling fire, and invite your neighbor over for a chit-chat. Nobody judged you for that. Much better than pretending to be asleep while your mind zooms at jet speed. Homicides, suicides, depression, and aggression were lower. Right now, there's some old-timer just staring at the ceiling in the dark, wondering when he'll finally give up and leap into the nearest pit latrine.
