Hakuna gunship

These are not helicopter gunships but light observation choppers that can be equipped with light weapons.

I highly doubt that we can buy gunships, or be allowed to purchase the best.

The simplest definition of a gunship is an aircraft with armament for attacking ground targets, the size of the aircraft doesn't matter. In this case, these are some of the smallest gunships available, alongside the Airbus H125M, which the KDF also has.

These MD-530s, the MD-500s already in country and the AH-6 Little Bird used by US special forces and others in S. America all qualify. These MD-530s can be equipped with rocket pods or heavy machine guns. The MD-500s already here can be equipped for anti-tank roles, observation, light transport or as gunships.

Are we stockpiling for some war somewhere in the near future?
Replacements for existing units that are beyond repair (the MD-500s first came in the 80's), specialised infantry support roles as those already here either are observation turned gunships, or specifically for anti-tank missions.

Not money, we should study more about dependency and world systems theories to delink ourselves from this mediocray called depending on first world nations.

Just say poor man's gunship.

It's like those bright green Toyota Platz's some Kenyans pimp with a speed fin on the boot. It will never be a sports car.
