CVT is a kind of automatic transmission that stands for Continuously Variable Transmission.

Unlike traditional automatics that use fixed gear ratios, CVTs continuously vary the gear ratio to a wider range.

This is to optimize engine performance and fuel efficiency as the engine operates at its most efficient RPM for any given driving situation.

Despite these advantages, many car buyers don’t like CVTs and try to avoid vehicles that have them. This piece contains a list of many such vehicles.

Common Problems with CVT Cars
1. Belt and Pulley Issues

At one time people were insisting on buying cars with carburetors and shunned from fuel injected vehicles. Then they refused electric windows preferring the manual window ones. At one time local car importers would ask Japanese car exporters to change the gear box from automatic to manual. Now the issue is refusing to accept CVT. If the engineers at Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, Nissan, Subaru, Ford etc have all agreed that CVT is the superior tech and way to go, who are you to oppose, you are just a 8yr junk importer/dump site who has no say in the way the car technology should progress.
