WTF how much does this equate to per month

Nation Media Group(NMG), the regional media powerhouse in East Africa, posted a significant decline in Net Earnings to KSh 2.9 Million at the end of the half year period ended 30th June 2023. This is compared to net profit of KSh 247.8 Million in H1 2022. The Nation Media Board attributes the Group decline in profitability to the drastic rise in the cost of imported raw materials, particularly newsprint, and the depreciation of the Kenya Shilling against the US Dollar.

This is what happens when you have a clueless and uninspiring Government which crashes it’s currency making it ridiculously difficult to import raw materials and other essential inputs.

All Kenya Kwisha Government is doing on the economic front is taxing more and more. The ripple effects are that Kenyans purchasing power is severely dented to an extent that they can’t buy newspapers and advertisements from these newspapers.

The poor performance of these companies is simply due to poorly thought out and uninventive Government policies.

Hata huko nyamakima businesses are closing down due to high cost of imports and depreciation of the shilling. The future looks very bleak for everyone. Hata hapa mashinani macadamia ni 20 bob, coffee 30 bob per kg. Kenya kwisha.

When you have flag ship companies struggling economically then you realise as a Country that it’s a wake-up call for the economy to take a long hard look at what is going wrong

The Nation newspaper has been an institution for many generations. It is a very respected source of information in Kenya and the region.
As @Okiya might vouch, till early this year Nation newspaper used to feature on Sky News and BBC24 on their news each and every day. They have now dropped Nation newspaper because of the struggles it is experiencing since Mwizi came to power.

But Tugeges always shift the buck and the blame elsewhere than to the rightful perpetrator.
