Mzeiya in Kibera

Often confused, Kibra is the constituency that used to be part of Langata in which Kibera, the division and famous informal settlement is located in.

Now, I have to admit, I had never ventured within this amazing place until I volunteered to be part of a team that was doing some NGO-ish project deep within Kibich. And what an incredible time it has been until jana when our part was done.

The first day we went, we weren't very sure if we would even get parking and so left the jalopies at KHC Langata but that proved great as I captured some nice shots of the bypass as @Meria drove past...

and @Mwalimu-G's favourite things apart from the holy herb.

Anyway, it has been a very eye-opening time with watu wa number nane and frankly, I miss that place sana. Life is very easygoing, cheap no longer will I question why it's hard to leave the hood.

Hii fish yote ni less than thao since 1kg is 350 mbob!

Huoni crate ya mkate ni ratio enough! Anyway, they use an electric weighing scale alafu ukitaka ikuwe fried, you pay 30 bob. Kadogo economy is thriving huku. Kwetu one egg is 15/- while huku tray ni 290/- meaning each is less than 10 bob.

I would take lunch every day at a different kibandaski with a certain pointee lady. Furthest I went was the place near Prestige and even saw that the road that will link Ngong & Langata Rds has made a lot of construction progress

Nikuulize, how is Olympic Esto able to remain so serene yet iko Kibich? Very interesting.

@Nameless kibra is safer than all the ghettos in Nairobi man. Mchana hauwezi ibiwa, chances are very slim. Usiku, all hoods are risky but still not as risky as Eastlands.
