Kenyan musician Wangechi has won a case against Tecno Mobile.
In the case the musician had sue the company for using her photos to advertise a new phone brand without her consent.
The photos were used on Tecno Mobile's official social media pages to advertise a give away to its customers.
The advertisement read: - "We are loving your entries so far! Keep them coming using the hashtag #See9SeeKenya and you could be the lucky owner of new Camon C9"
She announced her excitement on twitter:
"4 years ago my constitutional rights to privacy were infringed.
Today the courts ruled in my favor and proved I have a right to control how my image & likeness is used publicly.
Toast to my legal team @OmuodoA for a guaranteed win
Hope this sets a precedence for future cases."
The settlement of the infringement case has not been publicly announced
