Still making losses..... will it ever break even

I recently saw the government is forcing Ktda to abandon lorries za akina @Meria and use train to transport tea to Mambasaaa.
On the positive side..... it's fully booked up to December.
Until we improve our manufacturing and agriculture, the train will continue to make losses

SGR BREAKS DOWN AGAIN !

The SGR passenger TRAIN from MOMBASA which was to arrive at NAIROBI Terminus at 14:00 is still STUCK at Lesonkoyo station. Afternoon passengers to Mombasa and 10 pm passengers to Nairobi delayed. This is the 4th BREAKDOWN in just 2 weeks.

The train expected to arrive at Nairobi TOWED by a freight LOCOMOTIVE, instead of the normal PASSENGER locomotive.

The Inter-county train from Mombasa to Nairobi has developed a mechanical problem resulting in an undue delay. We have dispatched a rescue Locomotive to enable the passengers complete the journey. The expected arrival time is 4:00 pm. The 3:00 pm Express train to Mombasa will now depart at 5:00 pm.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

We are looking at the 24 billion loss but it's also possible that the port of Mombasa is more efficient due to fast container evacuation and also for the importers it might be an advantage to them too .We might be saving more that the 24 billion indirectly .Less trucks on Mombasa - Nairobi highway also means less maintenance costs for the tarmac .
My 2 cents thinking regarding the SGR .
