This disaster has really shifted attention. I've not heard of the ferkin Ukrainian war today. BBC have for one hour stopped broadcasting normal news to concentrate on this. It is that bad!

I've contacted one Kenyan in Damascus na ako sawa. He says the region hakuna Wakenya coz it's largely a war zone...

The level of destruction caused by the earthquake in Turkey makes it look like a war zone. This is utterly heartbreaking. Pray for Turkey and especially for the people trapped under the rubble.

This would require the rapid evacuation of millions of people lest the dam breaks and many drown to their deaths.

I heard on BBC radio that there's a 2000 year old mosque that's been standing since byzantine times, but it collapsed this morning.

A 2000 year old mosque? Doesn't make sense, Islam is 1500-1600 old.
