Making KList Great

Farfetched

Lister
I was a member at KTalk but I stopped contributing around May 2017. Even though most people believe the village died coz of Digi, the death started earlier. Newcomers would be welcomed in a hostile manner, women were also unwelcomed and only a few hardened ones survived, some people would comment negatively whenever someone wrote a hekaya, others would derail someone's thread. In short, only a few bigshots were deemed to be worthy contributors. With the alienation, people started seeking solace in their own ways. Others turned the site into a brothel and in no time, they had enough company. Same case for the MGTOW family and clickbaiters. That's why that site had 30k members but less than 100 active users.

I fear the same might happen here if we don't change our old ways. Jamii Forum, for example, is such a great forum because everyone engages in meaningful discussions, no one views new members as bonobos or useless, there is no derailing of other people's thread, and so on. If we want to make this forum great, let's contribute to a thread no matter who the OP is, let our comments be meaningful, let's stop regarding others as lesser members. If someone writes a long hekaya that you can't read don't write demeaning comments, if you feel that the hekaya is a lie who said it must be true?
