A piece of the selection fork broke. That piece got lodged in between gears and seized up the drive train. 140 kph to 0 kph in 10 seconds. Tremendous damage.

Yes, I can imagine the engine seizing, sprockets, chain and rear tire locking, squealing and skidding all over the place! Not funny at all. One day on a 'new' bike , I stalled it on third gear while making a slow turn. The stall caused the steering to suddenly turn and nearly broke my wrist. And this was at probably 3kph. Wueh!Luckily, there was no traffic behind me.
Story would have been totally different.
