A 10-year-old boy left residents of Itare village in Kisii County in shock after he circumcised himself after his parents were allegedly unable to raise Ksh.1,000 to cater for his initiation rite.
The boy, whose medical condition is reported to have worsened, used a kitchen to perform the cut nearly a month ago.
Speaking to Citizen Digital at their home in Kisii, the Class 2 pupil said he was forced to take matters into his own hands to avoid discrimination by his peers who were circumcised during the December holiday.
Following his deteriorating health, the boy was taken to a local dispensary and later referred to the Kisii County Referral Hospital but his parents took him back home since they could not afford the medical fees.
Samwel Momanyi, an activist in Kisii County, is now urging the government to intervene and help the boy, who requires specialised treatment as he is undergoing difficulty urinating.
The 10-year-old is set to remain at home longer as schools re-open on Monday.

We have a quote for such daring boys that goes;
A tough bwoy needs no fire when eating bees!

The boy has earned some serious bragging rights, for the rest of his life. I can clearly see him 15yrs from now bragging to his peers, that He never let any man touch his penile, mimi nilijitairisha mwenye.

Wasichana wameng'olewa ignition button wawe Watamu? Don't be silly. :D
Natty , there are many ways of reaching the desired maximum speed. I know you know this but you are just putting on a show...😁. 2 inches inside the engine ,then use your finger signaling "come" and increase speed with the rate of breathing through carburetor. That's the spot. You find that spot then you will control your car ever. It's more powerful than ignition button.🎅

That's a real lion . He converted criticism into action not "uuui uuui I'm being bullied "

I wish he was my son only that I would have taken him to hospital sooner. Hii kijana haigopi kisu...
I won't call him stupid because he is a kid. But circumcision is a very overrated rite of passage in Kenya anyway.

Its not just the physical act, it's whatever knowledge that is supposed to be passed on to the initiates that has been lost over the years.
In some communities, even as of now, the foreskin removal is not even 5% of the whole initiation process.
Kijana anatoka huko mwanaume.
