Lets assume it's 2020 January and you had some spare 100k. So you decide to invest it all in the top 5 most profitable companies on NSE, 20k in each company.

How much would that money be worth today?

How about if you invested it in the top 4 MMF at that time, 25k in each. How much would it be worth?

So maybe you are @Denis Young and you say let me buy 30k worth of BTC, 30k worth of Eth, 20k on shitcoin dodge and the other 20k you spent on Gilbeys and JW

Or say you invested it all in treasury bonds like @Okiya

Nimefanya hesabu and the money put in has grown by 5.8% since I started 10 months ago.
Much better than saving in a bank considering I chose the moderate risk product. And that amount I've indicated includes a 16% withholding tax deduction
On profit or on total sum?

Investing is very interesting. You can either choose high yield, high risk or low yield, low risk.
Thankfully, I have just about enough to play both. Now as I approach my late twenties I have a sizeable investment portfolio.
