I have this old Hp elitebook 8440p. It was running on windows 7 and everything was fine. Recently I decided to upgrade to windows 10. Shida imetokea na graphic drivers. I cant seem to get the right drivers. I cannot change the screen resolution and brightness. Once I search the internet i get some graphic drivers by Nvidia. When i install them the screen goes off, but once i connect an external display it works just fine. What could be the problem?

Was it a clean install of Windows 10?

I'm using a HP 8440W with Nvidia Quadro and I'm okay.

Try updating Windows to the latest version, then update the drivers. Mine did the same, turned it off and restarted, t'was okay afterwards.

Simple sana.. Most of the time ukiupdate windows brightness huwacha kufanya so solution ni kuupdate graphics drivers. Enda device manager graphics driver right click update ikamaliza restart comp youf good to go.

Update your bios. I had a similar problem with a dell inspiron N5110.
In many cases if you upgrade to Windows 10 and experience graphics drivers problems start with latest bios update then followed the drivers update.
