Is Raila a Reformist?

This comment by Ahmednassir is an opinion I have held for a long time. While I cannot speak about Raila's agenda pre-90's and even pre-2000's since I didn't know much about the world around me at the time, everything after is fair game.

I remember the sijui 50 vs 1 rhetoric. I remember the nusu mkeka nonsense. The post election violence just so he could be accommodate in government. The chaos in 2017, going as far as boycotting the repeat election and still having the audacity to go and challenge it in court. The calls to secede. Etc.

In my opinion, this man has thirsted for power for so long and has done everything and anything to aid that goal. Like a kite he just blew whichever direction took him a step closer to power.

Here he is again shaking hands with someone whose leadership he has disparaged for years and you would be forgiven to think they are long lost brothers. Just pathetic if you ask me.

All politicians are ambitious. When did ruto started focusing on 2022?Hasn't he be campaigning for the sole purpose to get power?
Even ruto has done everything to get it or you think those meetings in karen or the numerous trips to murang'a have been for what?

But you guys said he should give kamwana space to work. Situlilia anasumbua? Were they supposed to remain "enemies" forever?

What if ruto does a handshake? will you claim the same or tuweke kwa lungs?

Ruto never brandishes the reformist card to. Ruto never tried to overthrow the government. Ruto never illegally swore himself to be the president of Kenya. Ruto never incited counties that support him to secede just because he lost a fairly ran election. Ruto never asked people to riot for time without end to have himself accommodated in the government. All the bad things that can be attributed to Ruto, Raila is guilty of the same and, perhaps, even more guilty than Ruto!

@wrongturn, by letting kamwana atawale we never meant that he should join him in the stealing spree and misrule. We wanted him to stop paralysing ordinary mwananchi's businesses with his selfish, unreasonable and perpetual/endless riots that were characterised by wanton destruction of innocent people's properties. He ought to have peacefully exercised his role of oversight as the defacto alternative/shadow government/cabinet leader.

So there was already misrule and stealing in Kenya? Hata ruto mwenyewe alisema uongozi haipewi, you have to take it.

There's no politician with no ambition , and everyone has a way to go for it. Uhuru once said, this is a marathon, na alipo angalia nyuma, ruto was already running the other way.
