In the newspapers

A decade plus ago, I was an avid reader of the East African newspaper, I even penned several stories for their fiction section. But alas, the thrill was gone, especially when newspapers became partisan and dabbled in politics.
Wherever I am posted, I remove the allocation for buying newspapers, and convert it to motivation for the best performing office staff each month, a more worthwhile venture with tangible results for me.

So after buying newspapers for ages, you have now stopped because you dont want to see sirkal ya mtu yetu being criticized? Your village wananunua mafuta na sukari pesa ngapi?

Also, "your staff" need to read
newspapers to know what is happening in the country otherwise assimio watakuja huko maandamano and your mboys will be found flat footed.

Same here but with their online pages, would also watch the 9pm news religiously. Between 2013-2017, news and newspaper publication lost me as a consumer. Same thing has happened with twitter or although in the last two years or so.

Hii yote ni uzee. At some point you realize there is nothing new; just a repeating recast of past events, only with different actors. And with the internet, one can choose what info or news they want to consume. I stopped with newspapers during Klist days. But I pretend to read when I visit a certain kiosk for tea, where I am eyeing a waiter.
