" Your MP earns this much:
- Salary: Sh621,250 per month.
- Car maintenance allowance: Sh356,525 per month.
- Send off package: Sh11.6mn
- Tax-free car grant: Sh7mn
- Mortgage facility: Sh40mn
- Medical scheme:
1. Inpatient: Sh10mn
2. Outpatient: Sh300,000
3. Maternity: Sh150,000
4. Dental: Sh75,000
- Mileage claims: Unlimited.
- Lifetime Pension: Sh100-125,000 per month.
- House Allowance: Sh250,000 per month.
The way we have institutionalised misuse of funds in this country is mind boggling.
We need to figure out HOW WE NEED TO STOP THIS. We need to realise that we have useless, irrelevant, bloated institutions, and that WE NEED TO ACT and start afresh!
Your MP's car is paid 356k monthly (maintainance). Yearly, the car earns your MP 4,272,000 and 21,360,000 in 5 years! How many Kenyan graduates, manage to earn 10m in 5 years? How many? How did we come that politics and politicians are at the very top? Politics should not be a lucrative business. A politician should not earn any salary or meddle in government contracts!
Yaani, we pay taxes with our blood for it to be wasted... this is a state of anarchy.

How can it be rectified? Sarah Serem tried, they ALL fought her and even threatened to slash her budget. This is the right time to deal with the salary issue, when their terms are up for review.

When it comes to those Kenyans are on their own, they'll ignore everything because they know us. They can promise to reduce but the moment they're elected ,first thing they do is to refund themselves campaign money.
But where do kenyans expect handouts and funerals monies to come from?

I recall mutahi when he was senater urhing his fellow senators that they should not impeach governors because they (read he) will also be running for the same seat, and it will set a bad precedence for themselves

Kenyan legislators emerge second in global pay ranking

Kenyan legislators have been ranked the second-highest paid lawmakers in the world, beating their counterparts from the developed economies of US, Britain and Japan.
