Huge Explosion in Embakasi

Looks like a gas filling plant within a residential area in Embakasi has had a disastrous fire outbreak with small explosions that culminated in this 👇🏾

Looks pretty bad and we can only hope that no one has lost their life and that all those traumatised can be well soon.

Also, NEMA and other agencies that never acted on citizens reporting of such a dangerous situation need to have action taken against them.

We seem to disregard human lives and this incidence should be a lesson we ought not to forget.

Probable area, the plot with a brown gate in the first picture, or the area with parked tankers in the second picture. I used to have a kaplumb girl I loved very much from this kijiji.

Ah i remember this gas mwitu place, i knew one day something would happen, fyi most gas vendors in nairobi get their gas from this place, the arrangement inakuanga company drivers wa hizi companies kubwa za gas, energy and supermarket's huleta lorry hapo gas kidogo inatolewa inawekwa kwa waiting empty gas canisters, the drivers get a cut, you get gas refilled at a very cheap rate, basically stealing. The problem is that their methods are very crude, a lot of gas get's wasted and goes off into the atmosphere, that's why the place always smells. One day i was there and a guy brought a pick up with gas to be refilled alikaribia hapo na sigara kwa mdomo, it was by luck that some guy was keen akamchapa kofi.

Not to blame anyone but our emergency and rescue systems need an overhaul

I respectfully disagree with that, what I saw was coordinated effort by the respond teams to curb what could have been a horrific night. Social media talking heads only care for clout in the comfort of their thongs and avocado face masks, but in the face of that darkness was a humane effort.
