How much was wasted here?

I travelled to London today for a work related engagement and couldn’t help being mesmerised by all those London Buses adorning and advertising the Margical Kenya brand.

I think the Kenyan Authorities thought that Kenya would be lifted out of the UK’s red list countries where Britons are prohibited from visiting due to Covid 19.
Unfortunately the status quo remains and no Kenyan or anybody passing via Kenya (except British subjects) is allowed to visit UK.

This got me thinking, how much of our tax money was wasted here albeit inadvertently?

Overall brand awareness rather than direct sales persuasion.

Outdoor and transit
There are many ways to advertise outside and on-the-go. Outdoor billboards can be signs by the road or hoardings at sport stadiums. Transit advertising can be posters on buses, taxis and bicycles. Large billboards can get your message across with a big impact. If the same customers pass your billboard every day as they travel to work, you are likely to be the first business they think of when they want to buy a product.

Even the largest of billboards usually contain a limited amount of information; otherwise, they can be difficult to read. Including your website address makes it easy for customers to follow up and find out more about your business.

We thought you would margically know the amount wasted.

Ukisema "USED" haitamake any sense, Mkuu? Why not try to be cordial?
The reason I said wasted is because even if the advertisement works and people wants to visit Kenya as tourist, it will not be possible for many months to come because of British Government’s Covid restrictions to red-list countries such as Kenya.
If you travel to Kenya at the moment as a tourist, you will have to be quarantined for two weeks and pay for two Covid tests on your return.
It will end up costing you almost £2000. For that reason alone I doubt there will be tourist flocking to Kenya despite the advertising.

Does the same applies to the scorch earth military guys who 'accidentally' set fire to 10,000 acres of Savannah grassland?
