For people outside Trump’s cult and the Republican Party, it seems ridiculous and evil to suggest that people should go out and die from the novel coronavirus to save the economy. But Trump’s followers seem willing to do so. What is going on in their minds?

If you are in a cult where the leader is claiming to be some type of apostle or prophet who gets revelations directly from God, and who says “just believe in me” and tells you to reject reality or outside information, then you believe that you will be fine. You will be “saved” and go to “paradise.” Therefore, if Trump or his other spokespeople tell people to go out, get sick and then die, it is fine because the cult members believe they are going to heaven.

Unfortunately, there are millions of Americans who believe that Donald Trump is doing a good job with the coronavirus pandemic because they are not looking at any other source of news or reality testing. These people are doing a lot of praying and they have put their faith in an authoritarian leader who continually tells them, “I know better than everyone else, the experts, the doctors, etc.” Trump says that all the time. He always tells his followers that he knows better than the scientists, generals and other experts. Trump is telling his followers that he is omnipotent.

I'm just here to share the truth that lame stream media wont show. Like yesterday CNN quickly changed its headlines to cover the truth about Democrats blocking small businesses in US from accessing bail out money

The left headline is the correct position. But CNN changed it a few minutes later to the right headline.

Corona may not be a s deadly as previously thought and projections may have been wrong. Interventions could have worked to lessen mortality.

But anybody who thnks Trump handled this well for his people is a joker. And anybody who thinks corona is a joke should tell us what he knows that the world's leading virologists and epidemiologists don't know....................

Wewe pia you believe Chinese propaganda with their numbers?? When you look at Covid 19 cases, dont just look at population numbers of countries. There are other contributing factors why one country might be affected more than another.

For instance, look at the below image of air travel. Clearly it shows very few people come to Africa relative to other continents. Further, according to UN, the top 5 most visited countries by tourists are France, Spain, US, China and Italy in that order. Is it a coincidence that these are the countries that have been hit the most ?

Anyway, back to numbers. When you want to measure properly, you account for the number of people same way we do GDP per capita. That's the proper comparison of apples with apples.

So in terms of deaths per 1 million people here are the stats for major countries.

1. San Marino- 1,002
2. Spain- 339
4. Italy- 302
5. Belgium- 260
6. France- 187
8. Netherlands - 140
9. UK- 118
16. USA -50

In terms of Covid 19 cases per 1 million people:

20. USA - 1,417
21. Germany- 1,411

Finally the EU has 27 countries with population of 445 million. Just 7 of them (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, and Switzerland), with combined population of 293 million, have 51,800 deaths. The US (331 million people) has 14,800 deaths.

Great statistics. Here's my feedback.

1. Western media as propagated several untruths about the Chinese epidemic. For example you have heard they tried to hide it by threatening doctors and not informing the WHO on time. That their figures are cooked.

Well, I don't know for certain but everything I have read says that this is propaganda. For example the delay at onset. People forget that this was a NEW virus that nobody understood. Nobody knew what it was, how it was transmitted or how to test it. Of course there was bound to be a delayin establishing all this. as to the much-quoted doctor who 'discovered' the virus and later died from it, he was sharing his information on a local friends' Whatsapp (equivalent) group. He was summoned by low-ranking local officials to explain and was never detained. It's not like the CCP in Beijing had an extraordinary meeting and decided to send him to a gulag.

As to the figures and current situation, you want to tell me the Chinese gavament is so murderous as to lift lockdown when they haven' dealt decisively with the virus? They have.

2. I agree that the death figures for the US are currently low. BUT COULD THAT BE BECAUSE THEIR EPIDEMIC STARTED LATER? Italy has been dealing with this thing for nearly 3 months now, the US for just one month. The exponential growth in their confirmed cases in March alone should tell you something. New York alone is now having more deaths per day than Italy at its worst, and they are even starting to use mass graves. i don't doubt Trump or Fauci when they say that the US could loseanywhere between 50,000-100,000 by end of April.

3. Your citation of Germany is disingenuous. We all know that that country has dealt commendably with the epidemic. Also, the Chinese epidemic had nothing to do with tourism; THATS WHERE THE DARN THING STARTED. A second wave however could be imported.

1. Theres no way US deaths will be between 50k -100k by end of April. Even their models which have been soo off dont predict that.

2. Yesterday I gave credit to Germany but also explained about the difference Germany and US have in accounting for deaths. That's part of the reason why Germany deaths are low.

3. USA could be pumping up COVID 19 numbers. Ohio has said that as long as one shows symptoms of COVID19 they will be included as part of the statistics without even being tested.
