I came across this book/pamphlet.
It is about the doctrine of the Catholic church regarding marriage. Then I got to page 8.
So, according to the Catholic doctrine, marriage is between a man aged 16 and a girl aged 14, or above. @Liberty clarify here.
I also found that the catholic church has absolutely no room for divorce, except by decree from the pope. Adultery, cruelty, disease, irresponsibility, etc are not valid grounds.
Then there are the banns of marriage. These are the public announcements that are made to anyone with sufficient grounds to justify why a marriage shouldn't take place to come forward or forever hold their peace. According to this pamphlet, the bishop may dispense these of he thinks they are not necessary. At a fee of course (yes, the pamphlet says so, not me).
And when you invite a catholic faithful for your wedding and s/he doesn't show up, it's because it is a sin to attend a wedding in a Protestant church.
Just when you thought JWs are a strange thing, catholics happen.
