Flooding....

I will never understand how this comes as a surprise to people every time. Every time after a long period of drought it is always followed by floods. Then the bonobos who have been starving since they refused to evolve, are washed away and start another round of serikali saidia.

On the risk of sounding harsh, it is a good thing that Kenyans are broke at the moment. Nobody is necessarily running to the aid of these people like previous times. It is either they change or perish. Also, how difficult is it to map flood prone areas? What are the county governments investing their money into?

They (political leaders) from the area prefer to build skyscrapers in Eastleigh/South C and kilimani, instead of dam's/waterpans for harvesting of the run off rainwater, and then you find them talking about historical injustices. Which historical injustices abdi? And you have been receiving CDF for 19 years and Devolved funds for 9 years.

Devolved funds for 9 years.
They wasted 9 years of funding, then you see them ranting sakaja has not appointed any cec of Somali origin yet their counties back home are still wallowing in poverty. Ali roba was supposed to make Mandera the next tourist destinations but he built a huge governor's mansion, in august they elected him as senator oblivious of the fact that he didn't uplift them for 10 years as a governor.

Where they come from, no non local was nominated even for the position of minorities, and you will find a token somali in almost all county assemblies, clever people they are.

Don't be too harsh. Even developed countries despite their deep pockets and forward planning do suffer flooding and loss of life.
Remember these last year?

As a continent we are disproportionately vulnerable to the devastating effects of climate change.

Also, don't forget that water tends to run off very dry ground, a bit like off a rock.
I am not saying County governments couldn't do more.
