So tuseme Africa is not ripe for this kind of infrastructure.
Pale Europe, travelling by raill is sometimes more expensive than using flight, coz rail transport is very expensive to maintain.
For context, I just googled flight from london to Berlin, and I had these options.

So for SGR to make sense, probably they'd need to charge almost what the flight charges, not bus charges.

Its actually true..a flight from London to Edinburgh is sometimes cheaper than a train ticket..if you fly Ryanair or Wizzair its always cheaper than rail by far
True.. A return train ticket home from the city costs me more than a flight to most European cities.
Ryanair especially.. Their sale deals can be shocking.. I don't know how they make money.

Some people suggesting that TZ got a better deal than KE:D. They'll come to know these SGRs don't make sense later, when the cost of maintenance kicks in

Shida yetu kubwa ni taxes huku Vumbistan. Analyse your next local, regional or even inter-Africa flight when you're here. I've flown to Mombasa on a flight costing 7K with 5,900 being taxes, levies and other charges.

Low budget carriers in Europe not only enjoy low and standardise taxes but they offer the bare minimum so that you add other comforts such as leg space, meals, +baggage as extras. Similar thing in the US with Spirit Airlines and the Nairobi to Dubai direct flight on Air Arabia - which lands in Sharjah in the UAE and not really DXB.

We got the raw end. How do you give your lender power to maintain your asset and pay himuselfu, and any disputes he is the arbitor (n)

Most of those levies and taxes don't really flow to gava coffers they are consumed by per diems etc
