- In the last 24 hours, 123 people have tested positive for COVID-19 after 3077 samples, bringing Kenya's tally to 1,471

- Out of these, 78 are male and 45 female among them a 1-year old

- Nairobi is leading with 85 cases; Mombasa has 24 cases among others.

- 33 cases from Mathare.

- 7 are in critical condition; 4 patients on ventilation support, 3 on supplemental oxygen.

- The cases are now spread in 35 counties.

- 3 patients have died, bringing fatalities to 55

In slums, people behave differently when idle. They congregate more as they seek to comfort each other, increasing the frequency of interactions. They feel resigned even more, now that they cannot meet basic needs. This means survival takes precedence over the fear of a disease they cannot see. Any distractions, such as entertainment, invariably involves congregation. Alcoholism also goes up as they try to cope with the boredom. Other vices also shoot up.

My only problem with this disease is that it's airborne/through contact. I wish ingekuwa kama HIV wajinga wakufe peke yao in millions. Kama hawataki kufuata simple rules waachwe wafe..

Was in Kawangware over the weekend and those fellows don't know what social distancing is. Entered a supermarket there at around 5 pm and could not believe how reckless people are. We were literally packed inside and i forgot about what it was i was buying and angrily left.
