Inter Milan plotting staggering €260m for Barcelona legend next summer

-Lionel Messi has once again been linked with a move to Inter Milan
- The Serie A giants are hoping to land the Argentine on a free transfer next summer
- Inter are willing to hand the 33-year-old €50m-a-year deal
- The contract will see Messi earn way more than Ronaldo who earns €31m a year at Juventus

Italian League giants are reportedly planning to land Barcelona legend Lionel Messi in a staggering €260 million deal if he chooses to leave the La Liga club next summer. The 33-year-old has not signed a new deal with the Catalan side despite his current contract expiring next June.

His failure to sign an extension with less than a year left, coupled with the multiple bust-ups he has had with his employers has fueled his exit from Camp Nou. The six-time Ballon d'Or winner after losing Spanish League title to rivals Real Madrid described Barca this season as "erratic and weak" - a comment that sparked reactions from every corner.

Sport Bible quoting Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Nerazzurri are hopeful of landing the Argentine forward on a free transfer next June. Inter owners are ready to hand the forward a KSh 6.4 billion (€50 million) a year deal, and this will pitch Messi ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo on the earnings chart. The 35-year-old currently earns KSh 4 billion (€31 million) per year at Juventus.

The publication further claims that Inter president Steven Zhang has commenced negotiations with Messi's agents and also talked with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu. Antonio Conte side was said to have pulled a stunt by projecting the image of Messi on the famous Duomo cathedral as part of promoting the game against Napoli.

Commenting on the publicity stunt, Inter's CEO Giuseppe Marotta told Sky Sport Italia: "Messi on the cathedral? It wasn't my idea. It reminds me of football from the past with such situations. "We are talking about an icon, a great player, a desire that everyone has. "It's fantasy football, a utopian situation."

Meanwhile, it is left to be seen if Messi would accept the challenge his rival Ronaldo threw at him to join him in Italy. "For me, life is a challenge, I like it and I like to make people happy," he said in a 2018 interview with Gazzetta. "I would like him to come to Italy one day. Like me, accept the challenge."

Is it 1st April? Hiyo pesa doesn't make sense unless Messi is aging backwards
but remember he hasn't signed/renewed his contract yet. (this might be the reason behind the figure)

what would be a considerable offer to you?

€100M. Similar to what Juve paid for CR7
Messi is in a class on his own.

and he has almost pledged his playing career to Barcelona so removing him might take quite some money. (for Barca and himself)

also am sure Ronaldo is worth more than the €100M now
