Christianity is a white man's religion and other stories

You read your bible and realise there's mention of Kush and not America. Riddle me that.

You read your history and realise that missionaries predated colonialists and many sacrificed their lives facing challenges they did or didn't know would afflicted them, such as malaria.

You read a bit more and realise the church has been behind a lot of the good we enjoy till this day such as charity, education, healthcare and the like.

The religion isn't perfect, damn...you just need a casual scrolling on your remote to see the madness that religion has morphed to and you shake your head. But if you took a bit of time, ignored clichés and read the good book on your own, perhaps you will be a bit more informed.

I read that David once presented Saul with 200 bits of skins, not sure where the good in the good book is.
Must be in 1st Samuel.
Obviously, the Bible has some really wild tales, which I have to admit pale in comparison to what the ancient world practiced.

It's also a known fact that religion and especially its extreme interpretation has killed millions in World history, from Christian terrorism against the early Muslims via The Crusades which also had a social connotation, to cleansing of entire ethnic groups via major wars, and modern-day terrorism in the name of a certain religion that I choose to not name nor dwell on as I can only confidently speak for Christianity, which I ascribe to.

I love Christ, it's the Christians I don't like.

Gandhi 1916.

Sums up my outlook towards Christians.
I am a Christian, and though it's a pity to know you dislike those of us who proclaim our faith, I truly and genuinely admire your pragmatic approach to life. It's exactly what Jesus preached and what those who truly know God abide by.
I mean, when you truly get the Scriptures, you not only enjoy His Truth but also how his human nature was while He walked this Earth. Case in point...

In principle that would make your opinion biased wouldn't it?

Danke Mein Bruder.
There was an article on the elephant site that sought to depict the Catholics as a Monarchy, Protestants as a democracy and the Evangelicals as communists. Brilliant and well thought out, personally I've found out Christians to be a little bit inflexible and optimistic.

There's something said about opinions. You seem well read so I know you know it. Shalom.
