The past few days I have given my fellow listers some affordable vacation spots. But what about the wababas and wamamas in this group who don't want to associate with us cheap ruffians? People who have acquired resources (stolen cough, cough) and want the finer things in life?

I think I gotchu! Let's begin...

In the vast savannah, there lies an expensive and expansive ranch called, Governors' Mugie House. The place is an exotic dream location with wonderful views and tours of the big five. It looks so pricey that I am feeling my wallet get emptier just from looking at the photos of the place.

Mugie House is set on a private conservancy in Laikipia and has nine individual stone cottages‚ each with sweeping views of the beautiful landscape. It also has a large main house with open log fires that hosts guests for relaxing cocktails and scrumptious meals.

A large waterhole set in front of Mugie House attracts a variety of wildlife with a hide to offer some close encounters.

What does one get?

-A great wilderness sanctuary where wildlife meets luxury.
-Quiet and serene environment where a plethora of bird species sing sweet melodies
-Fabulous rooms, staff, and views.
-Amazing interaction with the animals.
-Bar and Lounge
-Secured parking
-Gym
-Laundry service
-Outdoor Pool
-Restaurant
-Room service
-Spa.
-9 hole golf course.

How does one get there?

Mugie Airstrip is the airstrip serving Governors’ Mugie House. One can book your flights with www.governorsaviation.com which offers daily scheduled flights. Clients are met on arrival at Mugie Airstrip and transferred by game vehicle to the lodge which is a 20-minute trip away.

Other flights options are; Safarilink and Air Kenya: Daily flights to Loisaba Airstrip (90-minute transfer to Mugie House). The hotel has placed a strict 15 kg luggage allowance per person, including hand luggage, on all regional flights with Governors’ Aviation and Safarilink.

If you don't have the money for a flight, it is a distance of 3 hours from Nanyuki Town. Children are welcome to the hotel with a family cottage available that sleeps up to four persons. Cot beds, high chairs, and babysitting services are available on request.

How much does a room cost?

The 'low-cost' cottages cost $740 dollars (KSh 84,108) per person while the high-cost cottage costs $845 dollars (Ksh 96,042) per person.

The price includes; local airstrip transfers, accommodation, meals, non-premium drinks, daily game drives, golf, kayaking, and laundry.

The price doesn't factor in; Flights, premium drinks, conservancy fees ($100{Ksh 11,366} per adult and $50{Ksh5,683} per child, per night), and entry fees to some activities.

Pros

-Excellent staff.
-Excellent facilitiies.
-Some of the best wildlife watching anywhere in the world.
-Private chef for each cabin.
-Excellent food.
-Less crowded than most wildlife spots.
-Has a nine-hole golf course.
-Exclusivity.

Cons

-The cost will burn a hole through your wallet. (If you ain't a tenderpreneur, politician, or in the wash wash business)
-The price!

-The road from Nanyuki to the House isn't in the best shape.
