CAN YOU GET HIV IF SOMEONE SPITS IN YOUR EYES?

There’s no HIV risk from getting saliva in your eye.
The four fluids that can potentially transmit HIV are blood (which is the most infectious fluid even in small amounts), semen (very infectious), vaginal fluid (moderately infectious) and breast milk (which is not very infectious at all, but some infants are infected through breast feeding just because they consume so much milk over their infancy—sometimes hundreds of gallons over a couple years, adding up to a higher risk).

Additionally, people with HIV who are receiving treatment do not have much of the virus circulating in their bodies, so they are unable to spread HIV through sex and and probably unable to infect others through any form of contact. Plus exposure to oxygen can kill the HIV virus. Spitting does not provide the oxygen-free protected environment (such as penetrative sexual intercourse or hypodermic needles) that is needed to transmit HIV.
