Remember when Jay-Z tried to rally fellow rappers to boycott Cristal. Cristal didn't even notice they had boycotted. They might even have been happier since their drinks won't be associated with rappers.

“Beginning Thursday, March 26, EABL paused all forms of advertising on all programmes related with these presenters. As a precondition to revert to our advertising partnership, we have asked RAG to conduct due diligence in the selection of presenters and embed a robust consequence management plan on those that do not abide by the code of conduct. We have also asked RAG to ensure continuous training programme for presenters to be sensitized on gender matters and commit to airing that will address negative gender narratives,” read EABL’s statement in part.

People with the tools to reach masses should be held to higher standards. Being a true professional is allowing healthy debate unclouded by personal opinion. Today is gender violence. Tomorrow it could be a call to violence towards a certain tribe as has happened before. Tomorrow they could be in front of the ICC never mind losing a job.

Unfortunately, they don't run their businesses by other peoples moral standards or rationale. Profit comes first.
