Eldoret man pleads guilty to committing unnatural act with cow, says he had 'a strong urge he couldn't control'

A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to committing an unnatural act with a cow on September 11, 2023, at Seretio village in Moiben, Uasin Gishu County.

Before Eldoret principal magistrate Caroline Wamitta, Billy Kipchumba, who is a farm worker, said he used a condom while performing the bizarre act.

Kipchumba who was remorseful pleaded with the court to forgive him.

“Your honour, I am pleading with the court to forgive me, this is the first time I have committed such an offence. I had a strong sexual urge that I could not control and this must be the work of the devil,” he pleaded.

The owner of the cow shocked the court when he narrated how he found the accused pants down after hearing a commotion at his cowshed at around 0700 hrs on Monday.

“I have heard and considered the evidence adduced in court and I find the accused guilty as charged,” stated the magistrate.

"All animals should be treated with respect and dignity as human beings, I therefore sentence you to two years in jail" ruled the principal magistrate.

The accused has 14 days to appeal the ruling.
