Where do you start? I'm fascinated by the cosmos. I got a borrowed Celestron telescope that I could use this holiday season for fun. Kindly give me websites and other resources that briefly introduce this topic.

Would you also share insights on your experience with telescopes.

Damn you are so lucky you got that telescope.

Now download an app call sky map or any sky mapping app you can get a hold of. You are lucky since saturn and Jupiter are very close to the earth and in fact saturn is currently the second brightest star in the sky from venus. You should be able to see its rings very clearly with that telescope. Use the app to locate it.

Btw the moon as you see it is called a cold fool moon...am not too sure if you have witnessed a moon rising but it is one awesome wonder to behold.

Thanks for that helpful suggestion. I will get a sky mapping app. It would also be interesting to see apps on Windows?

I could also use some easy to read star guides. I have some kids who are very interested. Something for them to read during the day and look forward to seeing on the telescope in the evening?
