You cannot auto-rotate into a farm with mature trees standing close to each other 25 meters high. Remember a few years ago when these things were new and a pilot crashed one in Eastlands?

This one I saw with my own eyes. I was having late lunch with some friends hapo kwa canteen ya Kenya Power next to KCA. That helo hovered over that spot for quite some time before it fell out of the sky.

Before it crashed in Eastlands, it had flown around the Two Rivers/Ruaka area, and I too had noticed it.

When helicopters lose engine power, the kinetic energy that is contained in the rotors is enough to allow the helicopter to glide and make a controlled landing. When done right, it is much smoother than a fixed wing plane landing without power.
