Hi , i need 3 good analogies examples for the following theme,

The theme is ‘how to imitate Jesus and not be part the world’

And i need 3 examples or analogies or similes as to why we shouldnt be part of the world, but still live in this world.

The examples can be anything from animals who stay away from the pact to survive or plants who thrive alone away from other plants etc

I have two favorites that i use when preaching in my church,
The first one is about a diver who has a family to feed and he has to go out to the ocean and find food in order to make a living, just the way humans cannot breath underwater we are not part of this world but we are in the world, the diver has to hold his breath and go underwater to find fish and other sea creatures, occasionally he must come up to get air otherwise he will die, likewise we must live in the world and make a living since we must fend for ourselves but we must be aware of the need to come up and take the fresh air of spiritual food which the world cannot provide. If we spend too much time under water we suffer harm.

i will share the second one.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Christ used the illustrations of salt and light which we believers ought to be(Matthew 5:13-16)

Both salt and light have properties which affect things around them. Salt is used to enhance flavor, and as a preservative.
We also know that the ruler of the World currently is the prince of darkness and as light, we're called to illuminate and thus eliminate darkness by being witnesses to a lost World by proclaiming the truth of the Gospel.

Use the example of the guy that lived near the healing springs for 27years. He was sick but that didn't mean he needed to be there for 27years. We need to be healed and not live in one place for several yearstwo use wale watu wa kupiga seti kwa matatu. Upcountry buses at Machakos were notorious for this... Gari ikianza kujaa they start selling stuff but end up remaining behind at the stage wanaendelea kupiga seti.
