He shares a lot of deep truths but the title isn't quite the truth.
You can say we weren't prepared for the white man's system; economically...socially and in other aspects as well.
But freedom is not a thing they gave us, it was a state they had snatched earlier. I stand to be corrected.

There was another argument somewhere that the best Africans were hunted down and either murdered or sold into slavery for attempting to improve their surroundings, which of course changing the status quo.
People underestimate how much people will fight to maintain the status quo once they have tasted power.

Reminds me of that "One in one hundred thousand niggas" thing in Django Unchained. The way the other slaves resented him at first but came to appreciate him in the end. I think this is a problem with black people in general. Look what happened to Pac, Biggie, Eazy E, OJ Simpson, Nipsey Hussle etc. We don't like to see someone win because we feel they're taking from us instead of empowering us. It's also why many who make it out and make something of themselves are reluctant to give back to the community. Why help those who only prayed for your downfall?

That man speaks the truth especially on the multiplier part. We see it in our political field where politicians are always fighting to be on one seat forgetting there are other avenues if in deed they want to transform their communities.

Africa needed more time to adjust to the mzungu way of life and policy. Thats not to say we didn't deserve the independence.

My 2 Cents on this matter ..
All Humans have a Right to Life and Freedom , regardless of Origin , Race or Gender ..
No Human can therefore subjugate another under any circumstance ..
And centuries of colonialism and racial discrimination do not alter that fact ..
