Guys, I have a pressing issue I would like your professional advice.
Thing is, my old man has been admitted at Coptic Hospital for the last 30 days or so, now today as we were in the process of having him discharged, we went to their accounts office to settle the bills. We have a medical insurance and again his NHIF card was up-to-date so naturally we expect the two entities would cushion us by settling a large portion of the bill.
Now here is where the problem arose, we were informed that the bill would only be settled by CASH only. Before someone blasts us on why n if we didn't enquire first when we were admitting mzae, yes we did that and they informed us that medical cover the insurance co. in question (Britam) and NHIF are accepted at the facility. But it seems the hospital deliberately left out the claims form for us to fill, with the hospital blaming the doctor for not giving us the forms to fill and the doctor bluntly saying it is not his duty to do that(Which seems sensible)
Now we are left with a hefty bill and a short time to raise.
My question is which oversight bodies or where can one start to seek legal redress?
