In Greek we have an expression along these lines;
Wi na rwake arumagwo ni mburi.

In kimon mon, as my Great Grandma calls English, translates to “someone with an omen can be eaten by a lamb”.
Wì na rwake atemagwo nì mwangù wa mùka agakua/ wì na rwake ahìtùkaga ngui na itikùge agathiì kùrùmwo nì ng'ondu.
Transreshen: Someone with an issue is cit by wife's skirt and he dies /someone with an issue passes dogs which don't bark at him, only to be bitten by a sheep and die.

GĪKŪYŪ TRADITIONAL SKIRT – MŪTHURU

The Gīkūyū traditional woman’s skirt was called the mūthuru, a simple leather wrap-around that was accompanied by a soft leather pubic apron that was worn under the skirt opening, mwengū at the front. The pubic apron is called the same as the gap it deals with, mwengū. The upper part of the body is protected by a cloak, nguo ya ngoro, or nyathiba, which can vary in length to just below the waist or up to the ankles. Because the skirt and apron were worn under the rather loose cloak, Routledge Scoresby writing in 1910 refered to the skirt as a petticoat. The cloak is made from three to four goat skins whose hair has been scrapped with a knife and then treated with ochre and castor oil until it was soft. Leakey in 1977 showed the method of cutting and combining the pieces from the four skins.
Fine 1905 photo by Scoresby showing an upper cloak reaching just below the waist. The skirt, mūthuru, seems to cross itself enough to not need an apron but she must have one. From her ear ornamentation, we know she has an initiated son or daughter.
The sewing lines and repair lines for patches that would appear later were oftentimes decorated with beadwork. The cloak was knoted on the right shoulder and it dropped free unlike the Maasai women’s cloak which was always held in addition to the shoulder knot, by a waist belt. The loose cloak allowed enough air movement as the two vertical ends were not sewn together. The body was wrapped and this formed the significant difference between it and the white man’s dress, matonyo, or ‘a thing you enter’. Only the cloak was removed at night and used as a covering together with other old decommissioned garments. The skirt and apron remained in place even during sleep or coitus.

*SUBJECT: FOLLOW UP REPORT ON MATUU EQUITY BANK
ROBBERY:*
Following today's Robbery at the said Bank, the team of NPS officers
under the Command of CPC Machakos County Mr. Issa Mohammed
OGW CP assisted by the CCIO Mr Charles Mutua CP teamed up with
officers from SSU, SCPC, SCCIO Yatta and RBU officers pursued the
gangsters. The team combed the areas within Ithekithini, Kithimani and
Kimangu areas where the robbers had been dropped off by two boda
boda riders known as Silvester Kilonzo (in custody) and Mwathi (still at
large). With the help of a sniffer dog which picked up the scent and
was handy in tracking. The same was confirmed by the good citizens
of area. The dog followed the tracks for 4-5 km where the robbers had
passed and unfortunately the scent disappeared at kimangu area. Later
in the evening we learnt that one of the robbers hails from the spot
where the dog lost scent. It will be explored in detail today.
Additionally the team proceeded to the crime scene and viewed
severally the Bank's CCTV footage.
From our early analysis we established that the PC (W) Dorothy Opili
had left her place of work and her AK-47 rifle with PC Omusebe. PC
(W) Opili seen coming from opposite direction of the bank on
telephone call. PC Omusebe with two rifles unattended was sitting on
a chair and was attacked & overpowered by the thugs who took over
the two rifles. One robber who was wearing a white half coat was seen
entering the bank before the attack and was armed with a pistol.
Equally, the robber in red attire was armed with a pistol & according to
initial information from our sources indicate that he hails from
Ekalakala in Masinga Sub-County. This same robber was involved in a
robbery with violence of Mpesa in Matuu township. His name &
particulars to follow.
PC (w) Opindi then fled and rode in a motorcycle to a nearby Faulu
Bank and she notified her colleagues (1). PC Hudson Nderitu and (2).
PC John Njagi all armed with AK-47 rifles who were guarding the bank.
The Faulu bank is 300 meters away from Equity Bank. The officers
ordered the Faulu Bank manager to shut the doors and close but they
didn't respond to the scene of robbery and their colleague's plea & only
made report to the OCS. The same amounts to misconduct and we are
handling the same.
The robbery took approximately 20 minutes hence our Police response
was poor and not appropriate & we are handling the lapse. While the
gang was robbing customers in the banking hall PC Omusebe was
seen conversing with the thugs in the Bank despite all the opportunity
to flight. It is subject to investigations which will reveal more. The bank
robbers were very lenient to the PC Omusebe for reasons known to
them and this was suspicious, unusual & unnatural to the team. The
team is following more leads with help of telephone providers and
human intelligence. From the modus operandi of the gang the team
believes some of the attackers were either rogue police officers or ex
officers. The robber who removed the batt of the AK-47 rifle patrolling
outside the bank from early information is that he is one *Kilonzo* an
Ex-GSU officer and was dismissed in Mombasa & hails from Masinga
Sub-County.
All are known Nairobi City County robbers.
Later in the evening at about 2030hrs, we got information that the
gang were asking the locals the direction of Tala Centre from Kithimani
area and we dispatched officers in motorcycles to pursue them as
another team from Tala towards Kithiimani and Donyo Sabuk. The
operation & investigations ended at 0050hrs and to be continued today
the 28th July 2021 by CPC & CCIO Machakos.
More updates will be communicated timely.
