Sardar Vallabbhai Patel was Independent India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. He was dubbed “India’s Iron Man.” The project took over 57 months to complete and the total cost of the project was estimated to be equivalent to ₹2,603 crore or US$370 million in 2019. It is the world’s tallest statue, rising 54 meters above the previous record-holder, the Spring Temple Buddha in China’s Henan province. The Statue of Unity, portraying Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is standing 597 feet(182) meters tall and is the tallest statue on earth.
2. Spring Temple Buddha, China

Location: Lushan County, Henan, China
Spring Temple Buddha, the world’s second-tallest statue, is a magnificent statue of Vairocana Buddha. It is created in the midst of a lotus-shaped throne. The construction of this statue, which is located within the Fodushan Scenic Area, began in 1997 and was completed in 2008. The statue stands atop a hill that has been reshaped to form two additional pedestals. The total cost of the project was estimated to be $55 million, with the statue accounting for approximately $18 million of that total. The Spring Temple Buddha comes from the nearby Tianrui hot spring, whose water, at 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit), is renowned in the area for its curative properties. The Foquan Temple, built during the Tang dynasty, houses the Bell of Good Luck, which is located on the peak of Dragon Head. The weight of this bronze bell is 116 tonnes.

The Laykyun Sekkya Buddha, stands on a 13.5 meter throne located in the village of Khatakan Taung, Mayanmar. When it was built it was the tallest statue in the world for a few months until the completion of Spring Temple buddha in China. The giant Gautam Buddha Statue was officially available for public visit in February 2008.

Ushiku Daibutsu is a Japanese statue located in Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture. It stands a total of 120 metres (390 feet) tall, including the 10 m (33 ft) base and 10m lotus platform, and was completed in 1993. From 1993 to 2008, the statue held the world record for tallest statue. It is one of the top five tallest statues in the world as of 2018.

Sendai Daikannon, also known as Sendai Tendou Buakuy Daikannon, is a statue of Byakue Kannon holding a gem in Sendai, Japan. The statue depicts a manifestation of the Bodhisattva Kannon known as Byakue Kannon, which translates as “White robed Kannon,” holding a cintamani gem.

The Guishan Guanyin of the Thousand Hands and Eyes is the fourth-tallest statue in China and the sixth-tallest in the world. It is located in Ningxiang, Hunan province. It is the fourth-tallest statue in China, and 6th tallest overall on earth. It depicts a bodhisattva embodying the compassion of all Buddhas. It is a 99-meter (325-foot) tall gilded bronze monument depicting a manifestation of the Bodhisattva Guanyin known as Shiyimian Qianshou Guanyin, which translates as “Eleven-headed Thousand-armed Guanyin.” The Ningshan County Government invested 260 million yuan in its construction in 2009, with the assistance of local business and religious organizations.

Located in the Wat Muang temple, the statue of The Great Buddha of Thailand stands 92 m tall and 63 m wide. It is made of concreted but pained in gold, the statues of Buddha is in the seated posture called Maravijaya Attitude. The Great Buddha of Thailand also known as The Big Buddha, Phra Buddha Maha Nawamin, Mahaminh Sakayamunee Visejchaicharn, and The Big Buddha of Thailand. It was built on the order of Phra Kru Vibul Arajarkhun to commemorate Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The statue was constructed with funds donated by devout Buddhists in the spirit of merit-making.

Byakue Kannon, also known as Hokkaido Kannor, or The Dai Knnon of Kita no Miyako Park, is the third-tallest statue in the world, but when it finished completion it held the world record until 1991. This statue has over 20 floors with an elevtor, with eight floors containing shrines and places of worship and a platform providing visitors with an amazing panoramic view of the area.

The motherland calls is the monument ensemble “Heroes of the Battle of Stalingard” on Mamayev Kurgan in Russia. The statue is 85 meters tall and the tallest in Europe, or tallest outside Asia. It is an allegorical image of the Motherland urging her children to resist the enemy and continue their attack. Because of its unique structure, the statue is extremely complex in terms of engineering, with a sword raised high in the right hand and the left hand extended to call someone. The sword was initially crafted from stainless steel and trimmed with titanium sheets. However, due to its massive dimensions, it caused the sword to swing violently under the influence of wind loads, resulting in the blade being replaced with another entirely made of stainless steel – and holes were provided in the upper part of the sword to reduce windage.

Awaji Kannon or the World Peace Giant Kannon is a temple and a museum in Awaji Island, the structure in now abandoned. Toyokichi Okunai, a realtor from the Okuchi group, began construction on Awaji Kannon in 1977. The statue is supported by a five-story pedestal building that stands 20 meters (66 feet) tall, with a sixth-floor observation deck built into the statue. Okuchi ran the building until his death in 1988; his wife took over and continued to run it until her death in 2006.
In February 2020 someone committed suicide by jumping from the observation deck, created unease among the locals. It was announced in April 2020 that the statue would be demolished by the end of 2022.
