Pombe Magufuli, retaliates

The government has been trying containment with contact tracing and isolation. I would say they are partially successful because at this stage the increase would have been geometric/exponential if the virus had been left to its natural course.
What do you think they should be doing different?
See my reply above, what would they be doing different, have free mass testing, set up a permanent department within the ministry with a standing budget to work on such viruses, set up mobile testing facilities in every part of the country

What people are saying is

If governments jumped to everything the people said nothing would get done or a lot of things would be left half done.
Governments evaluate a problem, decide on the best response strategy and set timelines for evaluation after which they draw new strategies. Governments are supposed to provide leadership not follow what people are saying on twitter.

So you are saying people are stupid for asking the government to be accountable?

Do you really need to insult people to put your point across? Personal insults (argumentum ad hominem) shows disrespect and lack of engagement in the topic under discussion.
Jibu swali acha excuse. Folks tell me how the word Mjuaji is abusive

Brazil should be a case study for you

Hata US would have been way worse if the Governors did not act on their own
This is round 1 they have been beaten. Corona is here to stay. What about in the next few months? As I said, TZ is not far. It will either end in tears or joy.

They should open up... Nini hushikanishi hapo

Now this is what they need to clarify. Corona is here to stay, so what is the plan, wait to reduce the spread by how much? What is the current rate of spread and what is acceptable? For sure because there are no measures in place very soon we will start reporting 30 cases in a day and after that 40 cases per day, remember Nairobi is a city of 5million people who are now enclosed together....either they are waiting for all 5million to get infected and healed or they give people a plan

Let's look at the geographic containment. We have been able to limit the spread to the 5 counties on lockdown. Within those areas, we have been able to reduce communal spread through testing, isolation and contact tracing. I believe this strategy is working because the number of new infections (within the country not at the borders) has not grown significantly.

care to quote research that shows the effectiveness of herd immunity in Covid-19
Hehe...you are being funny. How do I quote something that hasnt been resesrched or experienced before? The same way you cant tell what will be happening in Germany or Italy after months of easing lockdown. TZ is just the first. Its only with time that we can tell. From the beginning, I said you cant hide these things

This is just retarded, you really think Konyagi has any plan or just copy, 🐵 see 🐵 do

Even South Africa weren't retarded enough to extend indefinitely for fear of a flu

I have said something about the much vaunted mass testing elsewhere up there but there are to factors to consider: cost and social factors. The government has in the last two weeks tried in hotspots but the reaction has been in the open so I'll not go into that.
Instead of a standing department in the min of health your government is working with a multisectoral taskforce which brings competences from different fields and which speeds up implementation of decisions.
Budget - The virus came in the middle of the financial year...so the government had to scrape unspent funds from here and there and borrow some from international partners. I guess there will be a corona response budget in the coming budget.

Thank you for this reply. The fact that we(as humans) still don't know a lot about this virus is enough reason as not to try and be stupid with it.

Let's all agree that Magufuli is blundering big time with how he responds

However, we as Kenyans are not better either since we are neither mass testing nor funding kemri/Training doctors or even providing PPE's to them. We dont even have an economic recovery plan. I think the next 3 years will be so bad over here that it will be better to move to other countries
