A general comment on the broad topic
When you want to conquer a people you make them abandon their way of life because the confusion that ensues makes them very vulnerable to attack and exploitation. Culture is the glue that keeps the family together and the family is what maintains culture.
Use of violence alone doesn't conquer the minds of the natives.
So things like specific gender roles and responsibilities, riika system, praying to the god that lives in the mountains, polygamy, heterosexuality and barter trade system were to be totally destroyed.
Female circumcision is banned by government of Kenya. But that ban should apply to girls who are not yet 18. If an adult woman wants to undergo female circumcision the government should not interfere. Tattooing is skin mutilation. Drilling holes in earlobes and nostrils and belly button are forms of body mutilation allowed by government.
