Whats the possibility of any significant numbers jobs leaving China ending up in africa hasa .ke ?
Not in a thousand years will India ever replace China as a manufacturing hub. They have always had their big population, they have always been favored by Western Nations over China, but despite all these, the money is in China. India suffers from deep systemic issues such as a poorly educated population, corruption, crude capitalism, and poor infrastructure to mention but a few. The supply chain efficiency in China is unmatched anywhere in the world, even if half of the country were to shut down.Been watching some Indian news and those guys are licking their lips and rubbing their palms waiting for companies to move from China. And guess what they're using as a competitive advantage over other nations???? Their huge population which they say is an attractive market for investors.
The Indian govermment has hand-picked 10 sectors -- electrical, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, electronics, heavy engineering, solar equipment, food processing, chemicals and textiles -- as focus areas for promoting manufacturing
Now hear this. Their government has identified 461,000 hectares of land for manufacturing moving out of China. At present investors keen on setting up factories in India need to acquire land of their own which was the biggest obstacles for investors.

All tried to bring jobs here and failed due to the bribes our politicians were asking from them. They took those jobs to other countries like Ethiopia, Rwanda
Currently, the government is trying to kill everything. High taxes, high power costs, Increasing taxes on the Internet. Killing tea and coffee, Farmers in Rift Valley crying because their maize are not being bought
We might just have the 80's and 90's brain drain

And it is a truism that the competition doesn't have to be fair. Not about replacing China in all manufacturing. But there are 150 export items where the Indian government feel they can compete with China.
Feeling has no place in economics; only action matter. The Indian domestic market is under heavy assault from Chinese imports, despite the high level of protectionism. How well will they fare in export markets when they cannot protect their own local market. Actually, the Southeast Asian economies are way more competitive. They would be the first candidates in case of a Chinese exodus. Picture this, the Indian drug market sources 75 percent of its ingredients from China despite the fact that India is touted as a success story in pharmaceuticals. The Western media has a way of massaging India's ego so that it does not view itself as a failure. India is essentially Africa without internal borders, conflicts, and with about two decades more of independence. Not about replacing China in all manufacturing.
